The hotel is located in the downtown area, only 15 minutes from the airport and 30 minutes from all the major ski resort areas. The conference rates for rooms are: $89.00 for single or double, $99.00 for triple or quadruple. The additional room tax is 10.95%. The hotel provides free shuttle service from the Salt Lake International Airport. RESERVATIONS FOR THE HOTEL MUST BE MADE BEFORE SEPTEMBER 28, 2000!

Conference Program
The conference program includes an informal opening reception and registration on October 19, Thursday evening at the David Ericson Fine Art Gallery. Friday morning sessions will address issues in library instruction, collection development, and preservation of materials. Friday afternoon sessions will include an argumentative discussion on artists' books and a presentation about Mormon artist Minerva Teichert. The keynote speaker will be William C. Seifrit, well-known scholar who has written extensively about the pioneer period in Utah painting and sculpture. In the evening, there will be time for the monthly "Art Gallery Stroll" in the downtown area, where selected art galleries open their doors to the public until 9:00pm.
Saturday morning sessions will discuss the concept of team environment at the University of Arizona and the exploration and settlement in the early Southwest. In the afternoon, there will be an optional guided drive-by tour of historic downtown Salt Lake City ending with a visit to the Utah Museum of Fine Arts. Later on Saturday, a bus will depart from the hotel to the famous ski resort area of Park City for the rest of the evening.
The deadline for registering for the conference is September 22, 2000. Henderson.You might want to extend your trip to Utah by adding a day or two to explore the beautiful canyons in Southern Utah. Most of the famous National Parks such as Zion, Cedar Breaks, Bryce, Capitol Reef, and Arches are only about a 3-hour drive south of Salt Lake City. Other spectacular attractions include the nearby Snowbird ski resort, about 20 minutes from downtown, with breathtaking scenery. The link "Utah Information" link lists several options.
